There’s a party in Heaven today as Joan is reunited with her husband Martin who passed away in 2018. There will be waltzes and polkas and a banquet of food. Joan was the youngest of 6 Spakowski girls – Anastasia (Lawrence Massotti), Olga (Julian Kuproski), Emily (Edward Kozell), Margaret (Joseph Sobotka), and Ann (Adolph Jacobs). She was beloved by her in-laws, Martin & Rose Kling, Stephen and Barbara. Joan was the glue that held the family together. Every birthday, engagement, or anniversary was acknowledged with a lunch or dinner and none of us ever missed Boxing Day where there would be platters of wonderful food – Joan’s cabbage rolls and perogies were legendary and she shared those recipes with love so that her legacy would continue. Her life with Martin was all about family and friends and enjoying every joyful moment. She will be missed by grandchildren Matthew and Stephanie and son Martin (Rose) and all of her nieces and nephews. She lived at Mt. Nemo Christian Nursing Home and we want to thank the staff who showed her the most loving care imaginable. She often said how happy she was to be there and how well they cared for her. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society.
Visitation for Joan will be held at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue E. Hamilton on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Hamilton. Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
