Our big sister Jackie (Jacqueline Hazel Lawson) died in her home on the evening of November 21, 2023, after a valiant battle with the complications of debilitating long-term illnesses. We deeply mourn her passing but are relieved that she is no longer suffering.
Until the last few years, Jackie was a vibrant woman who loved to do things with family and friends. People liked Jackie and could rely on her to provide a willing ear and wise advice when needed. She was a great cook, savored good wine, expensive whiskey, and dining out. She loved social outings and singing and dancing all night to Country Music and the Oldies. She made the most of what little she had and was always engaged in creative projects to make, repair, or improve something. She was a talented seamstress and craftswoman who shared her skills with friends and family leaving many of us with fabulous creations to adorn ourselves and our surroundings.
Jackie was a shining star. She graced us with her presence for a time. She looked good, smelled great, was great to talk to and she liked everyone.
We will miss our conversations and her laughter.
Jackie’s remains will be cremated and the ashes returned to her family.
"A Mass Intention and Blessing" will be held for Jackie on Saturday December 16th at 5pm at the Church Jackie attended - St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, which is located at 440 King Street East, Hamilton. ALL are welcome to attend. If people are so inclined, some of us may get together at a local restaurant after the service.
“A Celebration of Life” gathering and party will be held next summer on a date, to be determined.
No flowers please. Instead consider donating to a Charity or Cause of your choice in her name. She would like that.
