Ivan Zigon

Predeceased by his beloved wife Hilda on February 25, 2022. They were married for 70 years. Loving father of Sonya (Frank) and Daniel (Marika). Cherished grandfather of Matthew (Laura), Nicole (Maciej), Marcus (Caroline), Krista, Alexa and Lukas. He will be lovingly remembered by his great-grandchildren, Grayson, Jackson, Hudson, Damian, Naomi, Gabriel, Florence and Charlotte. They enjoyed his stories and jokes up to his final days in the hospital. He had the opportunity to say his final goodbyes, tell more stories, joke around and provided heartfelt words and advice to his children and grandchildren. He is predeceased by his brother Justili, sister Mihela. He will be dearly missed by his sister Jelka and her family and by family in Slovenia, Italy, Ottawa and Montreal. The family would like to express appreciation to all the staff at Oakville Chartwell Retirement Residence, the LHIN PSW support, and Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Team.

Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. with prayers at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Slovenian Church, 125 Centennial Parkway North in Hamilton on Wednesday December 14, 2022 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Research, or a charity of your choice.
