Ivan Perlic

Ivan was a kind man, devoted Dida and father. He is predeceased by his wife Marija. Ivan leaves behind his sons Zeljko (Tracy), and Johnny. Grandsons Noah (Nina) and Ethan. His niece Nada (Drago) Jelic, Ivica Jelic, Drago (Sandra) Jelic, & Nada (Tom) Radman, his nephew Nik (Irene) Perlic, and many other family members and friends in his homeland of Croatia.

Ivan immigrated to Canada with his wife and son in 1975. He was recognized for his great sense of humor and his generosity; he always had a joke ready and could find the silver lining in any situation. He will be profoundly missed by everyone. We would like to express our gratitude to all the doctors and nurses in the ICU at Hamilton General, as well as to Dr. Andrus for consistently going the extra mile in Ivan’s care for many years.

Friends may visit Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth), Hamilton on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Catholic Church, 1883 King Street East, on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Cemetery, 681 Mud Street East, Stoney Creek. If desired, donations to Holy Cross Croatian Parish would be appreciated.
