Irene "Jadwiga" Rakoczy

It is with great sadness but with many cherished memories, we announce the passing of our mother, Babcia and Pra Babcia at Idlewyld Manor on January 26, 2016 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Walter (2007). Loving mother of Irene Clark (Brian), Daniela Burgess (Rick), Wanda Hammill (Tom), Wally (Rose), the late John (2015) (Melody) and Theresa Lewandowski. Loving Babcia of Justin Rakoczy, Ritch Burgess (Allyson), David Clark, Lori Schwarz (Marcel), Julie Ieluzzi (Peter), Jessica Rakoczy, Barbara Rogers (Dave), Mark Lewandowski (Adair), Jennifer DiDonato (Dave), Michael Lewandowski, Kelly Blore, Melissa Smith (Derek), Darin Rakoczy (Michelle) and Pra Babcia of Taylor, Mitchel, Shae, Rayne, Cole, Chelsea, Dylan, Emily, Hope, Ryan, Maxwell, Jessie Jr., Ava, Taylor, Jordyn, Sydney, Adrian and Austin. Dear sister of Anna Vasek and niece Lydia of Kitchener. Irene will be sadly missed by extended family and friends. Past Vice President of the Polish Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 315 and member of the Catholic Women's League at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church. The family would like to extend their thanks to all the staff of Idlewyld Manor for their kindness and support. Visitation at MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 8 St. Ann Street, on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 9 am. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery. Donations in Irene's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Foundation or a charity of choice.
