Helen Hedden

At Albright Manor, Beamsville, Ontario, on Friday December 19, 2014 in her 102nd year. Beloved wife for 55 years of the late Clarence Hedden (1989). Predeceased by loving husband, Reg Slatter (2003). Loving mother and mother-in-law of Claire and Clare Short, Grimsby; Jim and Eleanor Hedden; Niagara Falls and Peter and Janice Hedden, Kanata. Cherished grandma to Kim Short (S.R. "Sandy" Gage), Dean and Brenda Short, Sherry Hedden (Tom Ottman), Alison Hedden (Glen Gibney), Robert and Christine Hedden and Stephen Hedden. Proud great grandmother to Lindsay and Emily Short, Christopher Ottman, Griffin Jensen, and Addison and Mason Hedden. Predeceased by her parents, Lillian and John Havens and seven siblings. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews of whom she often spoke. Helen and her late husband Clare were owners/operators of the Dairy Queen at Stamford Centre, Niagara Falls, for many years. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Helen's Life will take place at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, with visitation from 10 am until the time of service at 11am in the chapel. Private family interment. The family wish to thank the fourth floor staff at Albright Manor for their outstanding care and compassion during Helen's final days.
