Harriet passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 5 at age 87. Loving wife of late husband John (Jackie). Beloved mother of John and Inge, Robert (Bob) and Sharon, Alisdair and Cheryl, David and Krista. Grandmother to Christine, Steven, Brian, Mark, Keith, Jennifer, Drew and Bryce. Great-grandmother to Sidney, Jake, Cole, Mason and Greggory. Special ‘Auntie’ to Cheryl and Norm. Harriet will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Harriet was born in Alexandria, Scotland and raised in Dumbarton. Predeceased by her parents John & Jean Tallach as well as brother Tom and sisters Isabel and Jean. Loving sister of Andrew Tallach and Adeline (Hamilton) and Margaret Fisher (Salt Lake City). Harriet and her family called Canada home in 1957. She lovingly supported her husband ‘Jackie’ and their four sons. Harriet reached out to serve the community through her work with the church, Helen Zurbrigg Non-Profit Homes and the Hamilton Literacy Council. Harriet was a long-time member of Livingston United Church and a more recent member of Port Nelson United Church. While a resident of First Place Seniors Apartment for many years, she was nominated for Hamilton Senior Citizen of the year. Harriet will also be missed by her friends at Bonnie Place Burlington. The family wishes to thank all the wonderful caregivers at Extendicare Long Term Care for their kindness and attention given to Harriet. Friends & family will gather at TRUSCOTT, BROWN & DWYER FUNERAL CHAPEL on Thursday March 7th from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday March 8th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Harriet’s memory be made to a charity of your choice.
