God has welcomed her home into His loving arms. Mom’s unwavering determination and incredible strength helped her to never lose hope.
Gail is survived by her loving family; wife and soulmate to Joe for 52 years. Dearly loved mother of Steve, Mark (Jenn) and Krista Aquino (Jack). Proud Grandma of Jesse (Ana), Justin, Melissa, Emily, Alyssa, Matthew, Jayden, Addison and Grace. Gail was a loving sister to Larry Sims (Pat), sister-in-law to Betty Gebel and Zenis Zyma (late Margaret). Mom is predeceased by her parents Leonard and Margaret Sims, brothers-in-law Pete, Andy and sister-in-law Mary. She will be forever missed and cherished by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mom was a beautiful, caring and kind person that touched the hearts of so many people. She was always there for her family and friends and offered her unconditional love and support for each of us. She looked forward to family gatherings, full of love and laughter that created lasting memories that we will forever hold in our hearts.
The family will always remember the special love and many visits by Father Charlie Galea. We are thankful for the compassionate care and love shown by the palliative care nurses; Anne, Rachel and Clarissa from Bayshore Home Care.
The family will receive friends at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre would be greatly appreciated by the family.
As children you walked before us, to lead by example. As teenagers you walked behind us, looking out for us and being there when we needed you. As adults you walked beside us, so that as friends, we enjoyed life together.
Mom was our rock, and her love was the glue that made our family so special.
We love and miss you so much already, Mom.
Our parents' love story is still being written; the next chapter has begun.
