Peacefully on October 21, 2023, surrounded by love and his family, Ewhen (Eugene) Ivan Demydchuk passed away at the age of 95.
Ewhen is reunited with his parents Volodymyr and Maria and siblings, Danilo, Oleksiy and Daria. He leaves behind wife Lubomira, stepchildren Dr. Miroslav Semczyszyn and Kasia Hucal (John) and daughter Natalka (Petar). Loving Dido to Thomas, Alexander, Anya, Julianna, and Lilianna. Ewhen was born in Busk, Ukraine and due to war had to flee at a young age. Ewhen lived in many countries but made Canada home. He was a very active member in many Ukrainian organizations but spent most of his time on Parkdale at the Ukrainian National Federation in Hamilton. Ewhen loved socializing and included it in his work while serving drinks at the Connaught Hotel and the Da-Nite Tavern. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm with Panachyda at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canada-Ukraine Foundation (cufoundation.ca).
