Erla Mae Jerome

JEROME, Erla A.R.C.T. Peacefully, with her family by her side at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice, after a courageous battle with brain cancer, on Sunday, October 18, 2015, in her 74th year. Beloved wife of 56 years of Jerry (Gerald). Dear mother of Carlene (Brian) Boettcher, Chuck (Barb) and Michele (Tim) Jerome-Hastings. Loving Grandma of Jordan, Cassandra (Sean), Zachary, Rachel, Samuel, Erin, Paige and her anticipated great-grandchild. Loved daughter of the late Norman and Edra Hetherington and dear sister of the late Chuck Hetherington. Erla was a member of the Caledonia and District Music Teachers Association and was a piano and voice teacher for over 50 years. Erla's greatest passions were family gatherings, teaching music, preservation of wildlife, birdwatching with Jerry, and experiencing the milestones of her children and grandchildren. Friends may call at the Cresmount Funeral Home, Upper James Chapel, 1020 Upper James Street, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Funeral Home on Thursday at 11 a.m. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held later. Special thanks to Dr. Goebel, Dr. Murty, Dr. McMillan, Dr. Patel and Dr. Winemaker and the staff of Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice for all of their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice or the Case United Church improvement fund.
