Elizabeth Irene Murphy

MURPHY, Elizabeth "Betty" Irene (nee Coffey) Passed away peacefully on October 9, 2012 at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice after a brave battle with cancer. Born in Huntingdon, Quebec on August 18, 1939. Dear wife of the late Rodney Murphy. Loving mother of Glenn Murphy and Cathy Larocque (Guy). Beloved grandmother of Melissa and Heather. Survived by her brother Patrick Coffey (Doreen) and predeceased by her brothers John Coffey (Claire) and David Coffey (Dorothy). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She worked at McMaster Health Sciences and Dominion Stores where she made many lasting friendships. Special thanks to Dr. Richard Packer, the staff at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, the VON Palliative Care staff and the team at the Hospice. Family will receive friends at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue East on Sunday, October 14th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at Sts. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church (50 Brucedale Avenue East) on Monday, October 15th at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
