Edith Wulff

Surrounded by family, Edith passed away on Saturday, April 16.

Edith was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Christmas Day, 1935. Daughter of Anton Nielsen and Norma (nee Blichfeldt), sister of the late John (Mille), and Inger (Bjarne).

Edith immigrated to Canada in March of 1954 and married her sweet-heart, Alfred (1927-2005), in May that same year. They had been pen-pals for three years after he left Denmark for Canada in 1951.

They have 3 children: Maryann (Roman), Robert (Debbie) and Johnny (April) and became the proud Mor-Farfar and Far-Mormor of 7 grandchildren: Christopher, Stephanie, Kimberley, Andreas, Vicky, Amber and Alex. She also has 8 great-grandchildren: Carter, Aurelia, Connor, Elsa, Benjamin, Eleanor, Atticus and Sloane.

Edith was lucky enough to be a stay-at-home mother while her children were young but soon became involved in the community as a volunteer in Home and School, Girl Guides (55+years), St. John Ambulance (50+years), the Danish Lutheran Church (60+years) and the Federation of Danish Associations in Canada. She loved music, singing, sewing, knitting, embroidery, crafts, cooking and swimming but most of all she loved spending time together with her family and friends at her home and cottage.

She also enjoyed travelling to visit family and friends in Denmark, the USA, across Canada, the Caribbean and Argentina.

Her funeral will be held on May 13th starting with visitation at 10 am, service at 11 am and light refreshments at noon at Holy Cross Lutheran Church (3455 Lakeshore Road) in Burlington. The internment will be done privately at a later date.
