It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of our Dad, Poppa and Great Poppa Doug Denyes, on February 6, 2017, in his 95th year. Predeceased by his loving wife Joyce (2007). His passing has left his family with an emptiness that will never be filled, but with memories to last a lifetime. Nobody was prouder than Doug of his much loved family, children Cheryl Condello, Rick (Julie), Steven, the late Chris Johnson (Dave), grandchildren, Christopher, the late Kevin, Amanda (Andrew), Tim, Dan, Becky (Mark), Caleb (Jona), Jacob (Kendra), Tyler, Chad, Samantha and Elizabeth and great grandchildren Addie, Andie, Chloe and Lucas. Doug is survived by his loving sister Doreen McKerracher and family and his dearest special friend Florence Earl. Dad was a veteran of WWII (RCAF) where he served overseas, met the love of his life Joyce and married in 1946. What followed was 61 years of love, laughter and happiness. A skilled draftsman, Doug was a teacher at Crestwood Vocational School, Hamilton, where he took great pride in knowing he had a positive influence on his students’ lives. Special thanks to the staff at the Riviera Retirement Home, Caledonia, Dr. Justin Lee and the staff at St Joseph’s Hospital for your kind and understanding care during our Dad’s difficult time. His family invite friends to celebrate his life at Cresmount Funeral Home, Fennell Chapel, 322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton (905-387-2111), on Friday February 10, 2017 from 6-9 pm with tributes read at 7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Assistance Program (CAP) Hamilton, would be really appreciated.
