Dorothy Allison Douglas-Rose (Also known as Dar, Daro and by all her grandkids as “Mommy” was born

on June 20, 1940 to parents Ismay and Archibald Douglas, in Ida Sabina on the Berbice river in Guyana,

South America. Dorothy spent most of her life in Kwakwani raising her children and some of her many

grandkids. Dorothy was also employed by the bauxite company where she was a loyal employee until

she retired. She was a hard worker and instilled that work ethic into everyone she could.

In 2002, Dorothy migrated to Ontario, Canada to live with her daughter Kim and her family, where she

fully enjoyed her retirement. Dorothy was a devout Christian and transferred her membership to

the Hamilton Mountain Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she enjoyed a long fellowship and made

many friends. Serving the lord and supporting family in need was her daily joy, this was evident by

her early morning prayers and morning devotions that could be heard coming from behind her bedroom

door. This was closely followed by phone calls to check on everyone both near and far.

Dorothy is survived by; her sister Rachel VanLewin (Guyana). Children; Vernon, Nalini and Peggy

(Anderson) (Guyana), Shelley (Trinidad), Kim (Wayne) (Canada), Vanessa (Jacques) and Marcellous

(Amanda) (U.S.A). She’s also survived by a vast number of grandchildren; Teon, Jamal, Rushanna, leon,

Tremain, Tonya, Teola, Tony, Brandon, Abigale (Paul), Devon, Rahim, Mark, Fayann, Javon, Shauna,

Kevin, Tariq, Tyrese, Rashad, Dejaun, Aaliyah, Marcellous Jr, Kenzie, Camden, Laylah and Jerimiah.

Great grandmother to; Alyssa, Isaiah, Olivia, Crystal, Jada, Angel, Haley, Shamar, Ciara, Zane, Alex,

Jaylon, Jaden, Kyle, Rhianna, Kaylee, Jamaya, Fantasia, Kelly and Kaycee.

Extended family; VanLewin family, Sinclair family, Melville family, Osborne family, and the Macintosh

Family. And her many church friends and family.
