With deep sadness, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Dalton on September 5, 2023 in his 90th year. Cherished husband and best friend for 41 years to Doreen. Dear father of Shelley (Wayne), Nancy (Rob), Carrie (Todd) and Nicole (Dave). Dear step-father of Cathy (Jeff), Wendy (Cecil) and Ron.
Loving grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of 5. Survived by his sister, Patricia Chapman. Dalton is predeceased by his parents Albert and Phyllis, his son-in-law Mark (Wendy). He will be fondly remembered by all of his nieces and nephews, along with many dear friends and relatives.
Dalton was a man of many wonderful talents. If he wasn’t in his woodworking shop building something, you could find him sitting at the piano, or playing his banjo, singing with the Golden Horseshoe Chorus or at his drafting table sketching. Dalton’s favourite time of year was Christmas. He was a big kid at heart and every year played Santa and would visit family, friends and community businesses, sharing his joy of the holiday. He was not one to sit idle nor miss a family celebration, and without fail, he would be standing out on the driveway waiting for your arrival. Dalton was always game for anything and would be there in a heartbeat to lend a helping hand with a smile on his face. He also was a big fan and loved watching the Toronto Blue Jays & Maple Leafs and making himself the odd “machine”.
Dalton and I loved traveling together. Cruising was our favorite which we took many of, over the years. One cruise in particular which was our last cruise through the Panama Canal, we are thankful for and to our dear and generous friends. Many lasting memories.
Hun, we have loved each other most of our lives and I miss you more than words can say. I will love you forever and with all my heart.
We love you dearly, Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa.
Special thanks to the medical team at 7 West General Hospital and the Trauma Neurosurgery Team, and to all our dear friends and family for your outpouring love and support.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held.
