Peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the age of 55. Much loved wife of James Stang. Predeceased by her husband Arthur Smith. Loving mother of Arthur, Andrew (Leila), Maureen Den Hollander (Tyson). Beloved daughter of Antonietta Bartolotta and the late Giuseppe. Cherished sister of Filomena Mandozzi (Joseph) of Hamilton and Greg Bartolotta (Francine) of Grande Prairie AB. Dear daughter in law of Arthur and Sarah Smith (both predeceased) and Leo Stang. Sister in law of Eric Stang (Judy), Judy Heyink (Henry), Patricia Martinello (Ron), Loretta Scott (Bob), Joan Kim (Kimin), Alan Smith (Theresa), Brian Smith (Tracey), Fiona Cowely (Stan) and Ann Chiarot (Guy). Rosina Petrella, long time friend and sister. Sandy, we know you would have been here but for your own extended stay in hospital. To John, Carolyn and the many caregivers that have become part of our family, you held a special place in Clara’s heart. Clara will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, friends and by the extended Bartolotta, Esposto, Smith and Stang families. Clara was an amazing person who spent much of her life helping others. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. One day at a time. Special thanks to the staff of the Juravinski Cancer Centre Medical and Radiation, Oncology, Palliative and Pain Control teams and the Juravinski Hospital staff on C3 Oncology, Surgical and ET for their compassion and care during Clara's illness, especially over the last few months. Visitation will be held at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave. E., on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers Thursday at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church (20 Idlewood Ave.) on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
