“The Man Who Loved Life”
Born and raised in Sassano, Salerno, Italy - February 9, 1932
Peacefully joined the Lord in heaven, on Monday September 16, 2013 in his 82nd year. Husband of Santina (nee Marzaro) married to for 57 years in Montreal, Quebec.
Father of Ciro and Rossana (D’Angelo) Barbara and Peter Tornifoglia, Eugene and Olga (Piccirillo) a loving Grandfather to Anthony, Adrian and Maria (nee Picone) Tornifoglia, Anthony and Stefanie (nee Pelone), Lisa and Justin and Christina and Joshua Black, Amanda, Marco and Julia. Predeceased by sister and brother in law Marianna and Carmine Marzaro, survived by brother and sister in law Gaetano and Ina and predeceased by brother Giovanni and survived by sister in law Franca, many nieces, nephews, brother in laws and sister in laws in Hamilton and Montreal.
Antonio was a man of many words. He enjoyed life and enjoyed bringing life to any party or families get togethers with his music and singing. At the age of 19 immigrated to Venezuela to make a better life for himself and to support his family in Italy so they did not have to struggle financially.
He took many opportunities to create self-employed businesses for his family and the community of Hamilton and turned all of them into successful businesses. Proud owner of “Ontario Ravioli Limited” of 40 years (est.1973) along with his wife, children and grandchildren and Magnifico’s Restaurant-Center Mall (1983-1993) just to name a few. Antonio was well known in the community of Hamilton as the owner and president of the “Italo-Canadian Social Club of Hamilton” (1978-1986) and the “Hamilton Italia” Soccer Team. All his family and friends recognized his passion for hunting, soccer and the love of his grandchildren. He has left us with so many memories that we will remember forever and a legacy never forgotten.

Our family extend our “Thank You” to all the Doctors and Staff at the Hamilton General Hospital – 8th South, 8th West, Step down and ICU especially to the nurses that cared for Antonio with compassion and their hearts nurse Tina, Rosemary and Lina and to Dr. A. Nassar, Dr. Fahad Alttammad and Dr. Frederico Pampalaoni for all their comforting support and endless efforts to keep him comfortable and exhausting his life here on earth with dignity.
We are honored to receive our family and friends at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Saturday & Sunday 4-9 p.m. Rosary on Saturday at 6:30pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church (Barton St) on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 10:30am followed with interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
