Ann, an intrepid warrior, only 38 years old, battled cancer with a courageous spirit. Her love of life, faith in our Lord and beliefs in the Christian faith gave Ann a strong continence. She passed on June 21, 2014. Ann is the granddaughter of the late Regina Bruce. She is the only daughter of Joe Bruce and Naty Bruce; sister to Joseph Bruce and Anthony (Laurie) Bruce and proud aunt to Riley and Avery Bruce. Ann was a social justice advocate; Hamiltonian; radio show host of “Hamilton’s Finest” at McMaster Student Radio CFMU 93.3; co-chair of Trade Justice Group with the Hamilton chapter of the Council of Canadians; and tenor singer (female tenor) with the St. Joseph’s 11:30 a.m. choir and the community choir of Mohawk College. Ann loved choral, piano, classical and jazz music. Her fellow choristers beautiful music held a special place in her heart. Ann opened up her own legal practice which included Hamilton, Toronto and Cambridge. She worked as Duty Counsel at the John Sopinka Courthouse and the Unified Family Court. Ann will be missed by many friends and family. Family will receive friends at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Ave. E., on Wednesday and Thursday June 25th -26th ,from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 260 Herkimer St., on Friday, June 27th at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. If so desired, donations to St. Joseph’s Church would be appreciated.
