Deb was born in 1953 in Hamilton, Ontario and passed away peacefully with family and friends by her side on May 31, 2024, at the young age of 70, after a long and brave battle with cancer.
Her life was filled with lots of memorable moments, loyal friendships and family that loved her unconditionally. She was a free spirit, always up for a good time, strong willed, didn’t sweat the small stuff, had an enormous heart and a great sense of humour. Those who knew her well know that she navigated adversity with courage and strength and that she had a fierce sense of independence and a positive outlook amidst all the hardships she faced.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Bob Smith, her adoring grandsons Sullivan and Sawyer. Her cat and companion Max, will certainly miss his home and life with her.
Deb worked as a Buyer with various construction and electrical suppliers during her career. She spent many years with various Hamilton Pool Leagues and continued to play casually as she enjoyed the social connections and shooting pool with friends. She was a proud mom and pillar of strength to her daughter Tiffany and loved her son-in-law, Bob, very dearly, like her own son. As a grandma, she cherished every moment she had with her grandsons, spoiling them and showering them with twizzlers, love and endless hugs. She had so much love for her family, near or far, and affectionately called “Deb Deb”, she valued her friendships, many of which formed in her 20s and 30s. Her love for watching NCIS, psychological thrillers and indulging in sweet treats was enjoyed into her last days where she felt spoiled at Margaret’s Place Hospice.
As she lived for the day and those special moments, sharing in fun adventures with her family and friends, we ask that you do the same - go out and do something that brings you joy, and share it with those close to you.
Thank you to those who provided such compassion and care for Deb, especially during the final weeks, days and moments of her life. In keeping with Deb's wishes, there will not be a formal service. Donations can be made to Margaret’s Place Hospice.
Deb will be cremated and buried in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Celebrate Deb’s legacy with those who knew her and toast to her sweet soul. Cheers mom.
Deb will be forever missed by many.
