Alexandra Samotulka

Born in Ukraine September 23, 1928 passing away peacefully at home on December 23, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. Gone to be reunited with her parents Stefan, Anna and her devoted husband Roman. Loving mother to Orest and his wife Kelley, Ihor “Walter” and his wife Denise. Cherished baba to Stefan, Jessie, Jamie and Mercedes. Survived by her two brothers Zenon and Roman Dumyn, many other family and friends. Will be deeply and sadly missed by her dear friend Tania Bednarsky who was with Alexandra as she passed into the arms of the Lord. Special thank you to Shirley, Halyna and Reney for all of your personal care and support. Thank you to the C.C.A.C and Palliative Care Team – Dr A Penderell, Susanne Leese, Lorian Fretz, and to Dr A Hornich. Alexandra was an avid and talented artist, teacher, volunteering at many childrens organizations and had a love for gardening but her greatest love of all, was her grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Panachyda on Thursday at 7:30pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ukrainian Church of the Resurrection on Friday December 28, 2012 at 12:30pm. Interment in St Volodymyr Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers donation to the Children of Chornobyl would be appreciated.
