William R. "Bill" Franke

William R. “Bill” Franke, age 94, most recently of Hamilton, OH, passed away at Westover Retirement Community on Sunday, December 10, 2023. He was born on June 23, 1929 in Cincinnati, OH, the son of the late Harry F. and Irma (Dickman) Franke. On November 27, 1948 in Maineville, OH, Bill married his wife of over 50 years, Frances R. (Wilson) Franke, and she preceded him in death on July 13, 1999. In 1985 he retired from his last job, where he was a Test Technician for John Deere. Although he found himself back in Ohio over the years, he had spent 53 years in Chandler, AZ. Bill is survived by his children, Mary Jane Bullock, James R. “Jim” (Carolyn “Sue”) Franke, and Shirley J. (Rick) Stevens; grandchildren, Kristi (Ian) Ferrel, Kati Bullock, Andy (Holly) Franke, Aaron (Samantha) Franke, Valerie (Cahle) Buckingham, and Sam Stevens; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Irma; and wife, Frances. A Visitation will be held from 10am until 11:30am on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton, OH. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:30am on Monday at the funeral home with his son-in-law, Dr. Rick Stevens, officiating. A Meal and Celebration of Life to follow at the home of Jim and Sue Franke.
