William “Carl” Baker, Jr., age 70, of Hamilton, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born on November 27, 1946, the son of the late William Baker Sr. and Ruby Jones. Carl served in the United States Navy for six years, and during the Vietnam War. He married Linda Young on May 15, 1971. She survives. Carl worked as a security supervisor for Merchants Security at the Ohio Casualty Insurance Company for many years before retiring in 2009. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to music, watching the UK Wildcats, and collecting antique pocket watches. Carl loved to build model ships, tell jokes, and spend time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Linda, of 46 years; daughter Carla Dean (Wayne) Dunn; siblings Phyllis (Alvin) Swope, Teddy (Betty) Baker, and Kenny Baker. Carl was preceded in death by his siblings Morris Baker, Skip Baker, and his parents. Visitation will be held from 11am until 1pm on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 1pm at the funeral home with Pastor Billy Bruns officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Carl’s name to the Mitchellsburg United Methodist Church, 11470 Lebanon Rd, Mitchellsburg, KY 40452 or Fairfield Wesleyan Church, 4685 Anthony Wayne Ave, Fairfield, OH 45014.
