William Edward Abrams, Jr., age 89 of Fairfield, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Majestic Care of Fairfield. Bill was born on May 13, 1934 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of the late William Edward and Florence Mae (Harris) Abrams Sr. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, member of St. Clair Avenue Baptist Church where he was a long-time deacon. He worked for many years as a diesel mechanic and later retired from First Baptist Church of Hamilton as head custodian. Bill is survived by his two sons, Lance Abrams and Neil (Jackie) Abrams; five stepchildren, Denise Leonard, Darlene (Jeff) Monnin, Diana (Don) Lair, Doreen (Tim) Reese and Timothy (Katie) Durham; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren and 17 step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, June (Engelbert) Abrams; second wife, Dorothy (McCreadie) Durham-Abrams; siblings, Margaret Ames, Louise Whiffin and Richard Abrams; step son-in-law, Earl Leonard and step-grandson, Eric Richmond. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 5-7pm at the Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home. Funeral ceremony will follow at 7pm at the funeral home. Graveside service will be held at 10am on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Crown Hill Memorial Park.
