Age 74 of Hamilton, passed away from this life on Wednesday October 16, 2013 at Vitas Hospice at Drake Hospital. The devoted father of Ambryn Kay Laubenstein and her husband, Todd and Jessica Lynn (Jeremy Scarth) Baker. The doting grandfather of Scott, Christopher, and Miranda Baker, Erich Laubenstein and Megan Scarth. Walt is also survived by his sister-in-law Polly Rosenbalm; nephews, Charles and David Rosenbalm and niece, Renee Stevens; as well as several grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn Ann “Kay” (nee Taylor) Rosenbalm; brother, Charles; parents, grandparents and grandchildren Matthew and Sarah Laubenstein. Walter was born and lived most of his formative years in the mountains of Southwest Virginia. Walt served in the U.S. Army for almost 9 years. His service covered three continents and rose to the rank of Specialist 6. He worked for 48 years in health care where he was a Practical Nurse and a Respiratory Therapist. Walt held the credentials of a Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner and a Registered respiratory Therapist. He served his profession as President of the Kentucky Society for Respiratory Care, Secretary of the Ohio Society for Respiratory Care and President of the Board of Trustees of the American Lung Association of Southwest Ohio. Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday October 21, 2013 at the Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home with Pastor Lawrence Combs officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
