Age 91, of Hamilton, died at Kettering Medical Center on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. He was born on August 22, 1920, in Owsley County, Kentucky, the son of the late Andy and Ethel (Mainous) Price. On April 4, 1953, in Franklin, Indiana, Russell married Cora Mae Garrett. He was employed with General Motors in Dayton at Delco Air and Frigidaire for 30 years retiring in 1976. He served in the CCC and the National Guard before entering into the US Army during WWII. Russell loved Blue Grass music. He played with the Sunrise Rangers and they were one of the original Blue Grass bands that played on WMOH. Russell is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Cora; son, Phillip (Marlene) Pryse of Hamilton; daughter, Joni (Ralph) Demmel of Hamilton; sisters Ruby (Howard) Golden of Riverside, Ohio, Barbara Mainous of Irvine, Kentucky and Billie (Rudell) Sandlin of Dayton; and many nieces and nephews. Russell was also preceded in death by sisters Reba Judd, Judith Hopkins and Betty Jo Tirey. Funeral Services will be held at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton, at 2pm on Friday, March 16, 2012, with Elder Eddie K. Garrett of the Primitive Baptist Church in Franklin officiating. Interment will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery.
