Rose Mae Browning

Rose Mae Browning, age 87 of Columbus, IN, formerly of Hamilton, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. She was born on April 13, 1928 in Hamilton, the daughter of the late Robert Thompson and Thursa (Walker) Thompson Hutson. On April 3, 1948, Rose married her husband of over 65 years, Eugene Browning, and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2014. In recent years, she had attended the First United Methodist Church in Hamilton. Rose is survived by her children, Claudia (Dennis) Shafer, Cathy (Dennis) Oakes and Gene R. (Linda Brown) Browning; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Keith; brother, Larry Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Robert E. Thompson. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held from 10am until 11am on Monday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Rose’s name to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 E. 17th Street, Columbus, IN 47201.
