August 9, 1927 - November 24, 2015
Robert was born to Ora and Florence Weekley in Hebron, Ohio, where he grew up and graduated from Union High School as President of his class.
He proudly served three years in the U.S. Navy before marrying Patricia Belle King. Together, they had three children: Terry (Sharon) Weekley, Nancy (Robin) Piper, and Scott (Donna) Weekley.
Robert worked several years as an insurance underwriter, and in 1962, he moved his family of five from Waynesville to Hamilton, OH in order to work for the Ohio Casualty Insurance Company then located in downtown Hamilton. He was elevated to an officer's position and remained employed there for a number of years before retiring. During retirement, Robert enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with family, and continued exercising his intense work ethic.
He loved reading and telling jokes, and won the hearts of many with his constant smile, wit and charm. He could do almost anything if it involved problem-solving, organizing, home repairs, landscaping and building projects. His children called upon him frequently for assistance and guidance on numerous home improvement and maintenance projects and he never denied them his knowledge and helping hand. He made work into fun. Robert also had the ability to make a typical night out for dinner into a party and family gatherings into celebrations. There are many fond memories of family vacations, camping and boating as well as holidays and campfires at his cabin on Brookville Lake, IN.
Robert was a doer and a leader. He was elected to represent his precinct on the Central Committee of the Butler County Republican Party and served several terms in that position. He never met a stranger. His greatest gift was the joy he brought as a loving husband, outstanding father, and selfless friend to all.
Besides leaving Patty, the love of his life, and his devoted children, he will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Shannon (Jason) Couch, Bradley (Melissa) Weekley, Christopher (Stephanie) Leibforth, Sera (Mitch) Bruns, Nicole Weekley, Brandon Weekley and Kaitlyn Weekley. He also leaves behind seven great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Raymond, John, twin brother Richard, and sister Betty. He also lost his grand-daughter, Lacey Anne Leibforth in 1978.
At the request of the family, private services will be held at the Ivey Funeral Home on Princeton Road. Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Burial Park.
In memoriam, contributions may be made to Hospice of Hamilton (Eaton Ave.), Animal Friends of Butler County, or a charity of choice. 'Till We Meet Again...
