Mary Louise Petry, age 93 of Hamilton, passed into eternal life on Monday, November 6, 2023 in New Palestine, Indiana. Mary was born in Butler County on October 25, 1930, the daughter of the late Floyd David and Arizona Margaret (Schoppert) Bittinger. Mary was retired from Ohio Casualty Insurance and a long-time member of Immanuel Baptist Church and more recently Timberhill Baptist Church. She loved gardening, her flowers, quilting, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. Mary was also a past Girl Scout leader and was famous for her homemade chocolate chip cookies. Mary was always willing to help others and her kindness will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Walter Franklin Petry; her daughters, Debra Henry and Jill Schellenbarg; and her sister Anna Mae Block. She is survived by her grandchildren, Jacob (Amanda), Matthew (Wendy), Abby (Chad), Becky (Danny), Amy (Joe), Nathanael, Adam (Crystal) and Angela (Luke); several great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and neighbors. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 4-5:30pm at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home. Funeral ceremony will follow at 5:30pm at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Miller officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
