Lisa Anne Fields, age 51 passed away at home beside her daughter and mother Friday, March 7. She was born May 5, 1962 in Hamilton to Wayne (deceased) and Lois Spurlock Fields. Lisa received her education in the Hamilton public school System and had graduated from Garfield High School in 1980. She had been employed with the US Postal Service in Cincinnati until illness in the form of Graves disease overcame her. She then became a stay at home Mom to her daughter, Kristin, and she was involved in Kristin’s activities. Lisa was deeply involved with the Boosters at Hamilton High and was a behind the scenes mother for the cheerleading team. Lisa enjoyed her life as a homemaker for her daughter and her mother. She worked diligently in her yard and received many compliments on her flowers and lawn. She had been named the Gardener of the Month by the Hamilton Journal. She was a member of the Greater Hamilton Bowling Association and nothing pleased her more than bowling on a team with her daughter and mother. Lisa welcomed all of Kristin’s friends to backyard get-togethers and didn’t care how long they stayed even if it was overnight. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Arnold and Kathryn Spurlock and cousin, Tammy Spurlock. Lisa loved them dearly. She is survived by her daughter, Kristin, mother, Lois, dear friend, Kahle Campbell, uncle Don Spurlock and family, and special cousins whom she considered brothers, Dave, David, Bobby, Josh and Chris Spurlock. Lisa was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian cancer in November, 2010 and she fought valiantly but lost the battle. We would like to thank Dr. Paula Wiesenberger and her staff in Hamilton at OHC and Dr. David O’Malley and his staff at the James Cancer Research Center in Columbus as well as the nurses at Mercy Fairfield and OSU James Cancer Research Hospital. We would also like to thank Hospice of Hamilton, especially to nurses Kendra and Karen. Kristin and Lois will welcome friends and family to the Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home on Saturday March 15th. Visitation from 2-4 and final service led by Reverend Ed Beck will begin immediately following visitation. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Lisa’s memory to The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, 300 West 10th Avenue, Suite 519 Columbus, Ohio 43210.
