Lavaughn (Happ) Henry, age 92 of Hamilton, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Hospice of Hamilton. She was born in Shandon on May 11, 1920, the daughter of the late Archie and Elizabeth (Urban) Happ. Lavaughn was a graduate of Hamilton High School. On July 22, 1944 at the Butler County Courthouse, Lavaughn married her husband of over 55 years, Charles R. “Bob” Henry, and he preceded her in death on December 18, 1999. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hamilton. Lavaughn is survived by her sons, Charles B. (Linda) Henry of Hamilton and Jim A. (Susan) Henry of Fairfield; grandchildren, Erica (Michael) Chiseck of Cincinnati, Billy (Grace) Sandlin, Jr. of Hamilton and Charles Henry, III of Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Haylie Hammons and Emmitt Sandlin; special cousin, Patricia Kreimer of Williamsburg; and many good friends and neighbors on Harrison Avenue where she and her husband lived for 54 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 6pm until 8pm at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton. Private Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Animal Friends Humane Society, 1820 Princeton Road, Hamilton, Ohio 45011.
