John William (Jack) Weiss passed away peacefully on January 21, 2024. Born on August 17, 1933, Jack was an all-city football player for Hughes High School in Cincinnati, OH. He later earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati, and his master’s degree from Xavier University.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Anna Weiss, and his brother, Carl Weiss.
Jack served in the Army during the Korean War and was a very patriotic man. He was also a man whose deep Christian faith was the foundation of his life. He was an avid golfer and loved watching sports as well, especially the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, and the Ohio State Buckeyes and University of Cincinnati Bearcats.
Family was everything to Jack, and he is survived by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Janet (Gurr) Weiss. He is also survived by his children John (Diana), Michael (Monica), and Shari (Brian), and his stepchildren Kathryn (Paul), Philip, Suzanne (Don) and Brian (Teresa). In addition, he is survived by 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Jack was deeply loved and will be remembered as a faithful, kind, caring man.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until Funeral Services at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 2565 Princeton Road, Hamilton, Ohio 45011. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jack’s honor to Homeless Animal Rescue Team (HART) at rescueahart.org.
