Age 91 of Los Angeles, California, formerly of Hamilton, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital, Los Angeles on Saturday August 3, 2013. He was born in Jackson, Kentucky on August 29, 1921 the son of Arthur and Laura (Rowland) Oaks. Before residing in California the past 41 years James had lived in Chicago, Ill, and Florida. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II. He had retired from BP Petroleum after 30 years in management. James is survived by his twin brother Paul Oaks; a niece, Audrey Allen; a nephew, Jack (Vicki) Oaks; and a long time friend, Jose Castanon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Florence Bond, Walter Oaks, Eleanor Chapman, Edgar Oaks, and Rose Elberg. Graveside funeral services will be held at Rose Hill Burial Park, 2421 Princeton Rd., Hamilton, Ohio 45011 on Monday, August 19th at 1:00 PM with Rev. Dr. William F. Jones officiating.
