Age 94 of Hamilton passed away on Thursday September 17, 2015 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born in Roxana, Kentucky on December 4, 1920 the son of Silas and Martha (Fields) Caudill. On February 5, 1945 in Roswell, New Mexico he married Charlene EvaDell Schockey. They were married over 64 years when she passed away on December 3, 2009. Herbert was an Army Air Corp and Air Force veteran serving during WWII, participating in the Berlin Airlift and Korea. He was the owner and operator of Caudill’s Garden Store for over 36 years. Herbert was very active in church work all of his life. He is currently a member of Freedom Baptist Church and a Kentucky Colonel. He is survived by his daughters, Linda “Dollie” (Larry) Bishop, and Cynthia Marie Caudill; grandsons, Dwight (Trina) Bishop, Rob (Jen) Chapman, Doug (Misty) Chapman, Dennis (Joan) Bishop, and Tim Garrity; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Jim T. (Thelma) Caudill; sister-in-law, Rudell Caudill; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Dani Lynn Garrity; brothers, Howard Caudill, Herman Caudill, Hargus Caudill, and Lee Caudill; and sisters, Tina Whitaker, Tessie Cornett, Dovie Ritchie, Mary Shepherd. Funeral Service will be held at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, 240 Ross Ave., on Tuesday at 10:00 AM with Pastor Kris Theobald officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
