Gertrude Margaret Reed, age 98 of Hamilton, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Westover Retirement Community. Gertrude was born on July 22, 1917 in LeMars, IA, the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah (McClain) Faust. She married her husband of 38 years, Francis Reed, on October 4, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1984. Gertrude was a Registered Nurse for over 30 years at both Fort Hamilton Hospital and the office of Dr. Jim Carr. She had lived in the Hamilton/Fairfield area since 1942 and was active with the local P.E.O. Chapter. Gertrude is survived by her son, Charles (Susan) Reed; grandchildren, Eric, Sarah and Caitlin Reed; and numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and seven siblings. A Graveside Service will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Mary Cemetery in Lancaster, OH.
