Betty Bowman, age 87, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Bradford Place. She was born on February 20, 1931 in Lee County, Kentucky to Stanley and Matilda (Lucas) Ross. On August 9, 1948, she married her husband of 64 years, Oscar Bowman. He passed away on December 23, 2013. Betty worked for many years at Champion Paper in production control, before retiring in February of 1988. She was a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church, having attended there for over 60 years. Betty loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and church family. She is survived by her daughters Wanda Zins, Lynda (Glenn) Nieman, Brenda (Tom) Barnes; grandchildren, Clayton (Kitty) Nieman, Rachel (Jason) Strong, Amanda (David) Weiss, Randall (Heather) Zins, Benjamin Nieman, Jessie (Carl) Cobb, Andrew Nieman, Taylor Nieman, Austin Barnes; great grandchildren Mia Ramey, Karsyn Ramey, Betsy Strong, Owen Weiss, Rebecca Zins, Jase Weiss, Zachary Zins, Bethany Nieman; siblings Marty Ross, Mary (Roland) McCollum, Kelly Combs. Among her many friends we would like to recognize Wanda and Ray Reed, Judy Bowman, and Ruth Ann Horn for their love and devotion. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, grandchildren Camille Rinck and Kayleigh Nieman, brother James Ross, parents and her sister-in-law Lori Ross. Visitation will be held from 10am to 12pm on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home. Funeral ceremony will follow at 12pm with Pastor Mike Botts officiating. Interment will be held at Rose Hill Burial Park. The family suggests contributions be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 1770 Eaton Rd, Hamilton, OH 45013 or to the charity of your choice.
