It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who passed away peacefully on December 25, 2013 in the QEll Health Sciences Center, Halifax, NS at the age of 86 surrounded by his family. Yuen Chau was born in Kwangtung, China in 1927. He was the son of the late See Sing Yee and Wai Ming Hum. Yuen Chau immigrated to Canada in 1952 as a restaurateur in Ottawa and then later in Halifax as one of the former owners of King’s Palace Restaurant. He was a quiet and compassionate man who was proud to be a Canadian. He was very proud of his family and took great delight in his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife Susan. He is survived by his children Kenneth(Joann) of Ottawa, Jack(Laura) of Halifax, Mary of Halifax, Allen(Tetsuko) of Toronto, grandchildren Elroy(Cara) of Halifax, Aimee of Toronto, Eric Wong (Taraneh Monfared) of Toronto, Tiger and Sakura of Toronto, great grandchildren Jack and Amelia of Halifax. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Edmund Wong.
Visitation will be in JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr. on Monday, December 30, 2013 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 10:00am in JA Snow Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. A private family burial will take place after the service.
