Theresa. John passed away peacefully at Arborstone Enhanced Care on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the
Age of 90.
Born in Ontario, he was the first of three children to Elizabeth and Sidney Satterley. He joined the Navy at a young age and, shortly thereafter, met Theresa in Halifax. John retired from the navy, worked with the Commissionaires for a couple of years before being hired at the Bedford Magazine, where he worked for 15 years before retiring for good.
John loved his family unconditionally and always worried about their well-being. He had a great sense of humor that never wavered, even when he wasn’t feeling well. Family gatherings were special to him; he wouldn’t miss them. He loved having conversations with kids and would never pass a child without saying hello He had a heart of gold and would always be there to help when needed.
Surviving family will miss him dearly: Sons, Brian Satterley, Halifax and Blair Satterley (Heather) Cooks Brook; Sister, Peggy McDougall (Ed) London, ON; Six Grandchildren: Brianna Reidt (Adam), Brampton,ON, Miranda Satterley (Josh), Bridgewater, Shawn Satterley (Margaret), Ottawa; Kristopher Satterley (Mackenzie), Kennetcook, Tanya Snair (James), Queensland, Natasha Snow (Larry) Upper Sackville.
