Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Sinclair and Marion (Reardon) McCann, and was predeceased as well by brother Charles Curtis.
His forty-year career was in the insurance industry, but his true passion was volunteering as an auxiliary RCMP constable. In his later years, he returned to the RCMP headquarters to work as a Commissionaire. He could often be found in his spare time at the cottage in Hubbards, blasting “50s on 5” or taking his family for cove tours in his much-loved boat. Known for his sense of humour and hearty laugh, he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his “favourite flower,” wife Susan (Titus) McCann; children Chris, Sarah (Tim), and Jenny; grandchildren Emily, Rachel, Parker, Olivia, Catherine, Emeline, Kelby, and Perrin; sister Shelagh (Jim) Cowan and a large extended family as well as many supportive friends.
As per his request, there will be no funeral service; a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
