Legge, Violet Blanche, died August 27, 2013, at Ivany Place, Bedford. Born in Garnish, Fortune Bay, Newfoundland on December 5, 1913. She was the daughter of the late Wilson and Annie (Banfield) Grandy. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by 4 sisters and 1 brother. She immigrated to Canada in 1932 and later married Edward Gordon Legge, who died on November 8, 1971. She was also predeceased by their only son, Gordon Rendall on June 3, 2003. She has many nieces and nephews in Newfoundland. She is survived by 2 grandchildren, Susan Carol (David Groves) and James Gordon (Joselyn Lackie) and 2 great grandsons, Jordan and Jeremy Legge.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 30 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, with services on Saturday, August 31 at 11 am in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, B3S 0E1 (455-0531). Donations to the Salvation Army, Fairview Untied Church or charity of choice.
