Verna Lillian Millington

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved mother Verna on August 12, 2012, Born in Dartmouth on January 25, 1920. She was the youngest of 17 children born to the late Lillian and George Lantz.

She was always cooking and baking her famous pies. She would never see anyone go hungry; she fed the neighbours and people of the street. She loved playing bingo and playing cards. She is survived by daughters, Sandra –Halifax, Carla (Keith) - Hantsport, Daughter- in –law, Helen – Bedford, sons Jack (Audrey) Randy (Wendy) Stan, Bruce (Ellen) Gary, Vernal (Bertha) Peter (Krista) -Halifax. 14 Grand Children, 10 Great Grand Children and 2 Great great Grand Children.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Morris (1973) whom she never stopped missing and loving, her son Henry, Ralph Son-in-law Don. Her sons Gary and Peter took over after the death of their father, maintaining the family home and taking care of their mother till the end. Were sure God holds something special in mind for them.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, 2:00pm – 4:00pm and 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home. Funeral Service to be held Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Cruikshank’s Funeral home at 10:00am, followed by burial at Fairview Cemetery.
