Born in Halifax and raised in his beloved "North End", he was a son of the late Stanley Odell and Eva (Kline) Odell. A graduate of the Halifax Vocational School, he was employed as a civilian tradesman with the Department of National Defence in Willow and Windsor Parks for 37 years. He was very active throughout his life playing numerous sports including football, basketball, fastball, slow pitch, ball hockey, and water skiing. He loved to travel with family and friends and his most cherished time was spent with extended family at the cottage at Mill Lake.
Surviving are his wife, Susan; daughter, Lindsey (Nick), Cole Harbour; son, Matthew (Angela); and grandchildren, Braelyn, Carter, and Ryleigh, Halifax; sister, Margaret (Ken), Halifax; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Johnny; and sister, Ann.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 1-4 p.m. Thursday, January 17th in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of choice.
