Theresa was the salt of the earth and matriarch of her family, known for her caring heart, giving nature, selfless spirit and her love of sweets. She was a keen listener and someone you could go to for advice, or simply a shoulder to cry on if you needed it. Her favourite times were those with her family, and she particularly enjoyed preparing delicious large family dinners for family and friends around the holidays. Never one to put herself ahead of others, she did anything she could, when she could, to better the lives of the people she cared for most in her life. She was a long time employee of Sears, retiring after 23 years, and kept in contact with many of her co-workers, several whom attended her 60th wedding anniversary gathering this past August. Theresa was a parishioner of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, and the family would like to extend gratitude to Fr. John DeCoste for visiting her both at home and in the hospital to administer blessings and spiritual guidance, which offered her great comfort. The family also finds comfort in knowing that she will be welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven with open arms.
Finally, the family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff of Neurology, Unit 8.1, at the Halifax Infirmary, for their compassion and professionalism.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted under the care of J.A.
