Brookside, NS
Terry passed away on Sunday, June 13th after a lengthy illness. Terry was born in Lunenburg on July 11, 1954 to Lloyd & Doreen Langille (Himmelman). Terry is survived by his wife Jean (MacKinnon), his sister Gaile Maddigan, daughters Amy (Jeremy Hockin), Dawn (Matt Cole), and his cherished grandchildren Rhys Hockin & Lily Cole. He was predeceased by his parents, and Brother in Law, Rob Maddigan.
Terry grew up in Mahone Bay, & worked until his retirement for the Department of National Defense. He had a passion for music and entertained many with his guitar.
Throughout his illness and the pandemic, Terry's close friends generously gave their time to keep in touch. It meant so much to him, we thank you all. He dearly missed the in-person musical jams, family celebrations, and visits, that had been such a big part of his life.
Terry was a frequent patient of the 4th floor Medical Day Unity at the VG. He returned their kind and compassionate care by fundraising and participating in the Ride for Cancer. He was very proud to be able to train and complete the 100 km ride with his daughters and a close friend after his first stem cell transplant.
The family would like to thank the VON, and Closing the Gap for their care. Their support allowed him to stay at home as long as possible. Thank you to all of the Doctors, Nurses, and support staff, especially the Hematology Unit and the QEII Emergency Department.
Donations in memory of Terry can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.
Due to public health restrictions, the family has decided not to gather at this time.
