Power, Shirley M. Age 86 of Halifax, died peacefully at the QEII on Monday, February 16, 2015. She was a daughter of Joseph Power and Margaret (Rita) Power. Shirley had worked for the federal government for 36 years. She enjoyed going to New York to attend operas, loved to read, and travelling every chance she could.
She is survived by her sister, Beatrice Hayden, niece, Heather Miles (Abe); nephews, Stephen, Michael (Brenda), Ronnie (Darlene), and Mark (Barb). Also several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Stephen Hayden. Cremation has taken place under the direction of J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr. Burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at a later date. Church service at St. Agnes Church, Mumford Road on Thursday, February 26 at 10:00 am. There will be no visitation and no reception following the service.
