Shirley Gordon, Passed away peacefully at the QEII Halifax Infirmary on March 18, 2015. Born August 1, 1937, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Blackburn) Gordon. Shirley grew up and spent her entire life in the Halifax area and her working life as an employee of MT&T (Bell Aliant). Her devotion to her mother’s care throughout her life was exemplary.
She is survived by her brother, John (Jack); sister-in-law Liz and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; brothers, William, Donald, Edward, Frederick; sisters, Marion, Geraldine and Jean.
Thanks to the staff of QEII, as well as Nancy, Lori, Don, Cheryl, and Liz for the special care shown to Shirley during her illness.
Visitation will be held at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Mary’s Basilica on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 10am.
