KELSIE, Sheila Sapphire – 69, passed away Jan 30, 2011 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary Site. A true multi-faith ambassador enjoyed her interfaith dialogue during daily Mass. Born in Beechville, she was the daughter of the late Deacon Reginald and Sister Eulah (Johnson) Hamilton. Sheila made her home at Parkstone Enchanced Care since April 2010. Sheila became Multi-Faith since living at Parkstone and attending daily Mass.
Sheila was a life member of Beechville Baptist Church, serving as past President of the Ladies Auxiliary, Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher. She taught at Beechville Day Care and was a lunch monitor at the Beechville/Lakeside Elementary School.
Sheila belonged to the Seniors group “Fantastic & Over 55” and Beechville Baptist Church Choir. She dedicated all of her life to the Beechville community and her Church.
Sheila is survived by husband Reginald Kelsie; daughter Charlene, Toronto; sons Alex of Chester, Cecil & George both of Dartmouth; sisters Ardith (Graham) Downey, and Germaine Howe Bundy “Kandi” (Floyd); brother Leonard (Bev), Sudbury Ont.; uncle Cecil Johnson, Sudbury; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by sister Daphine, brothers Clarence, Kenneth, and Norman (Junior); and step brother Bradford. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax, (902) 455-0531 with a Ladies Auxilary Service at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Beechville Baptist Church on Friday, February 4th at 2 p.m., Pastor Mathew Lucas offiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beechville Baptist Church Memorial Fund. Family of Sister Sheila Kelsie would like to thank the nurses and doctors of the Emergency Department and EHS Paramedics.
