Age 75, Halifax, Satnam passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 21, 2016.
Born in Punjab India Nov. 17, 1940 she immigrated to Canada in 1965 where she began her career as an elementary school teacher. She had a great passion for the profession and spent over 30 years teaching in the Halifax District School Board. She was also a devote follower of Sikhism and was an active member in the local Sikh community. Satnam enjoyed reading, walking and time spent in the company of family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband Pyara Singh, and two sons, Navpreet and Navdeep. She was predeceased by her daughter Navjot.
Visitation will be held 10:00-10:45am Sunday March 27 at Cruikshank Halifax Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow at the Maritime Sikh Society Gurdwara 10 Parkhill Road, Halifax at 12:00pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to any charitable organization, including the MS Society of Canada.
