Ruth Ashley

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Ruth Ashley on Friday January 25, 2013.

Born in Halifax Ruth was the daughter of the late Roy and Margaret Johnson.

Ruth loved spending time at the cottage in Tupper Lake, gardening and enjoying time with the family. In the past several years she enjoyed travelling with her husband Ron and her trips to the cottage with the “girls”, Shirley, Rosie and Barb. Her greatest joy was time spent with her grandchildren who she loved dearly.

Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Ron, daughter Paula (Rick) Dempsey, Fall River, son Kevin (Nicole), Halifax and grandchildren Neil, Ashleigh and Hunter.

She is also survived by sister Rose (Edward) LaPierre, Shad Bay, brothers Art (Georgia) Johnson, Halifax, Ted (Louise) Johnson, Halifax, Jim (Agnes) Johnson, Hammonds Plains, Doug (Marion) Johnson, Halifax and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by father-in-law Stan Ashley and brother, John Thomas in infancy.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 2:00pm, in JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax NS.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Autism Nova Scotia.
