It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our special father, Roy Norman Lorette on November 20, 2022 at the QE II Hospital with his daughters by his side during his final days.
He was born in England and grew up in River Hebert, NS. Although he pursued an interest in learning chemistry at St. Mary’s University and was skilled in math, Dad spent 30 years working as a Machinist. He was a man of principle with a strong work ethic and enjoyed listening to classic rock, watching documentaries and was an avid reader. He loved to tinker with automobiles in his spare time. A man of his word with a kind heart and gentle soul, he had a great sense of humour and loved to leave you with a good quote.
Father, brother, uncle, he is preceded in death by his mother, Anne Lorette (Mitchell), brother, James Lorette and leaves behind his daughters, Cheryl and Lynn Lorette; sister, Carol McLaughlin (Miles), nieces and a great nephew.
The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to the nurses and physicians at the QEII CCU and IMCU for taking care of our very special Dad during the palliative care process and this delicate time.
Cremation has taken place and his final place of rest will be at Economy Cemetery.
Forever in our hearts.
