Robert Arthur Rose

Robert Arthur Rose, age 85 of Hammonds Plains, NS, passed away December 26, 2017, at 1:03 am. Born in Bay du Nord, Newfoundland, he was the son of the late Robert Herbert Rose and Charity Rose (Davidge).

A loving husband of 63 years to the prettiest girl in Pool's Cove, "Libby", strict but fair father to his boys, Bobby (Bonnie), Wayne (Milvena), and Keith (Christine) but a pushover with his only daughter, Glenna. A much beloved Grandfather to Adam, Amanda, Matthew, Ashley, Nicholas, Megan and Ben and Great Grandfather to Abby, Lily, Summer, Makenzie, Makayla, Maddison, Aiden, Ainsley, and Avery. Adored by all for his kind and gentle soul. An avid gardener who was the envy of the neighbourhood. A veteran of the Korean War and a retired Oiler from the DND/Firebird. He will be missed by us all.

Survived by his wife, Levina Rose (Savory); daughter, Glenna Ann Rose; sons, Robert Herbert Rose, Wayne Angus Rose, Keith Steven Rose; sister, Charity Wagg Pope; brothers, Kenneth Rose, Enos Rose, Alton Rose, Thomas Rose; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by sisters, Fanny May, Sarah Caines, Irene Hillier, Ada Grant.

Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, on Friday, December 29 from 1-3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
